Defence Innovation Hub latest contracts

The Defence Innovation Hub continues to award contracts to enhance Defence capability through innovation. Minister for Defence, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP, announced three more Defence Innovation Hub contracts, investing $7.8 million in promising ideas that could provide the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with new and enhanced capabilities. This includes Sydney-based AMSL Aero.

Investment priorities for the Defence Innovation Hub

Minister for Defence, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP, has announced the Government’s 2018-19 investment priorities for the Defence Innovation Hub. Minister Pyne said the Government was investing $1.6 billion in defence industry and innovation over the next decade, including $640 million to support the development of innovative technologies through the Defence Innovation Hub.

Government investing in cyber security skills training for high schools

The Australian Government is investing more than $600,000 in a program aimed at training high school students in digital security skills. The initiative will see investment directed to better equipping high school teachers to teach digital security skills to students across the country as part of the first round of the government’s AustCyber Projects Fund.

Defence Innovation Hub awards latest tranche of contracts

The announcement includes over $1.2 million to Saber astronautics for the continuing development of machine learning technology for autonomous identification and modelling of electronic threats.

Land 400 Phase 3 - consulting with industry

Industry feedback received from the LAND 400 Phase 2 Mounted Combat Reconnaissance Capability tender process consistently indicated a preference to comment on proposed broad timelines prior to the release of the LAND 400 Phase 3 Request for Tender (RFT).

Air Affairs Australia opens new HQ

Nowra defence supplier Air Affairs Australia has opened its new headquarters after nearly quadrupling its workforce over the past two years.

Minister for Defence Marise Payne and member for Gilmore Ann Sudmalis opened the new site at Albatross Aviation Technology Park last Friday after the local success-story grew its workforce from 35 to 130 people and increased turnover five-fold.
